Summer SEEK Program

February 23, 2016 By CB Smith-Dahl

Summer SEEK Program

The Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) is a FREE three-week program sponsored by the National Society of Black Engineers in which college mentors who are majoring in STEM fields teach elementary students through hands-on learning opportunities.

This program takes place at a variety of schools nationwide and is locally hosted by Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in West Oakland. At some sites the program is girls only; in Oakland it’s co-ed and begins enrollment in springtime. Check the Oakland Unified School District website or call the school directly for details. Here’s some recent press about the program.
